Bear Burnett

Prior to launching The Canvass Group, Bear was Director of Real Estate for Preferred Growth Properties where he was responsible for the leasing and management of +1 million square feet of retail space and generated over +$35 million dollars in new lease value. Prior to joining PGP, Bear served as Real Estate Director for both Books-A-Million and Hancock Fabrics, Bear was responsible for overseeing portfolios of hundreds of stores across the country; managing existing assets as well as new deal process from initial site evaluation through design approval and lease signage, negotiating all deal points and economic structure. With over a decade of experience on both the tenant and landlord side of the table, Bear has been involved in a number of commercial real estate facets including: site and company acquisitions, market feasibility studies, national retail and restaurant rollouts, store construction and design, commercial lease and LOI negotiation, property dispositions, and portfolio optimization. Bear completed his undergraduate studies at Samford University receiving a degree in Finance with a specialization in Investments while also being a member of the baseball team. In addition, he is a licensed Real Estate Professional, member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is currently working toward his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
