Austin Trantham, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Saint Leo University, where he has served since 2022. He earned his Ph.D. (2017) and an M.A. (2013) from the University of Kentucky, holds an additional M.A. from American University (2010), and graduated with a B.A. with Honors from Austin College (2008). Dr. Trantham’s teaching portfolio spans undergraduate and graduate courses in American Politics, Comparative Politics, Political Philosophy, International Relations, Public Policy, and Research Methodology. He also completed a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching and Learning from the University of Kentucky. His research focuses on presidential and gubernatorial rhetoric, executive leadership, scandal, and public policy. He co-authored the Historical Dictionary of the Donald Trump Administration and published studies on gubernatorial campaign dynamics. Upcoming works include a volume on scandal in the White House and chapters on presidential legacy and active learning techniques. An engaged academic community member, Dr. Trantham holds leadership roles in the American Political Science Association and serves as First Vice President and Annual Meeting Program Chair for the Florida Political Science Association, in addition to editing its semiannual newsletter. He remains committed to advancing the study of executive politics and enhancing undergraduate education through research, instruction, and service.
