ABOUT

With over 18 years of experience, Ara Rostamian is a seasoned retail investment advisor known for his creative dealmaking and ability to identify value where others don’t. He has transacted more than $700 million in retail and development deals, advising developers, private investors, and institutions on acquisitions, dispositions, and redevelopment strategies across the Western U.S. As a founding partner of the Ovaness-Rostamian Group at Marcus & Millichap, Ara works alongside his partner, Orbell Ovaness, leading one of the firm’s top-producing retail investment teams. Together with their team, they’ve completed over 545 transactions totaling $2.2 billion in volume — delivering results across stabilized assets, value-add opportunities, and ground-up developments. Ara’s approach blends brokerage and development expertise, giving him a unique lens on feasibility, entitlements, and long-term positioning. Prior to Marcus & Millichap, he held senior roles at SRS Real Estate Partners and Strategic Development Advisors. He holds a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) from USC and a B.S. in Business Administration from CSUN. Ara is a board member of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate and active in ICSC and ULI. Outside of work, he mentors young professionals and enjoys spending time with his wife, family— as well as camping, weightlifting, and competitive chess.
