ABOUT

Amy Bezanson joined Crescent Communities in 2016 and currently serves as Director of Design, responsible for elevating design across the Commercial, Multifamily, and Single-Family Build-to-Rent portfolios. She collaborates with development, construction, asset management and consultant teams to refine design solutions and craft initiatives to continuously improve our work and curate the appeal of our communities. With over twenty years of diverse experience touching all aspects of the building design process, Amy brings unique accountability by integrating this focus within the development and construction processes. Amy previously held the position of Director of Design and Development for the Commercial team, where she led design for communities such as Ally Charlotte Center, River District, and Elizabeth on 7th. Prior to joining Crescent Communities, Amy spent 18 years practicing architecture, interior design, master planning, and urban design, on projects of varying scale and type. As an Associate and Lead Designer at MSTSD in Atlanta, GA, she guided teams on mixed use, office, retail, entertainment, multifamily, museum, adaptive reuse, higher education, and master planning designs. Amy also established her own freelance design consulting practice where her work focused on residential design, including custom homes, renovations, and small multifamily communities, as well as interior and graphic design projects. Amy serves on the Board of Directors and Property Committee for The Pines at Davidson, a not-for-profit senior living community in Davidson, NC. She dedicates time to Charlotte Lab School (public charter) as a guest lecturer, STEM curriculum contributor, grant writer, and parent volunteer. She also led Crescent Communities' sponsorship of Project Scientist, an educational program created to engage and empower girls with a passion, talent, and aptitude for STEM. Amy also serves on several architectural design review boards and is a regular guest speaker, panelist and design juror for industry associations, conferences, and schools. Amy is a registered architect, NCARB certificate holder, LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction, Fitwel Ambassador, and a member of the American Institute of Architects. Amy earned a Master of Architecture degree from Clemson University where she was awarded the AIA Medal for Academic Excellence and studied abroad at the Charles E. Daniel Center for Building Research and Urban Studies in Genoa, Italy. Amy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology, including City and Regional Planning certificates of minor study specializing in Urban Law and Land Development.
