The City of Saint Helena has approved a use permit for 929 Main Street which allows an eating and drinking establishment with retail sales including bottles of wine and non-amplified indoor music. The current tenant has obtained a CA ABC Type 42 (619638) to operate as on-sale wine and beer public premises, with off-sale privileges as well.
This building was completed in 2012, and was built to a trophy standard. It is designed for a single tenant. In the front of the house, it features a main wine bar, an espresso bar, three private event rooms, three gas fireplaces, two separate outdoor gardens and two restrooms (total square feet 3,212). In the back of the house, it features a basic kitchen, a wine cellar, a storage area, and a mechanical room (total square feet 397). The outdoor spaces feature mature gardens including olive and cypress trees, box wood and rosemary, and private parking for eight vehicles (total square feet 6,102). The total square feet of the building, the parking and the gardens equals 9,711 square feet. Effectively, the tenant is renting the entire parcel of land.
The main bar seats 15 people, and features a quartz bar top with internal lighting. The bar also features a ceiling sculpture made of red wine bottles. The bar has a sink, a wine bottle refrigerator, and plenty of storage.
The espresso bar includes a top of the line Nuova Simonelli Aurelia T3 espresso machine, and two Nuova Simonelli grinders.
The building has a built-in sound system. There are four large television screens which can be used for watching athletic events or other content. Internet service is supplied by Comcast.
There is a Yamaha concert grand piano in the main room, and non-amplified live music is allowed by the City Use Permit.
