Berkadia’s Hotels & Hospitality Group is pleased to offer, on an exclusive basis, the opportunity to acquire the fee-simple interest in the former Radisson Oakland Airport (the “Hotel” or “Property”) through a receivership sale.
Situated on approximately 5.4 acres, the 128,00-square-foot property consists of 286 guestrooms between two buildings connected via an interior corridor utilized as pre-function space. The Property was developed in two-phases, opening the initial 192 guestrooms in the two-story building in 1963 and the remaining 94 guestrooms in the six-story tower in 1987. The Hotel offers a diverse array of amenities including nearly 10,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant, and outdoor pool.
Conveniently located off Interstate 880 and less than two miles from Oakland International Airport, the Hotel is located steps away from the Oakland Arena and Oakland Coliseum with easy accessibility to Downtown Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco. The Hotel is also well-connected to public transportation, conveniently located near the Coliseum BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station which offers BART access and the Capitol Corridor Train (Amtrak), throughout much of the Bay Area and beyond.
In February 2025, the Property was placed into receivership, following a decline in performance following the COIVD-19 Pandemic. In April 2025, the long-term agreement with Choice was terminated, clearing the path for a new investor to implement their own management and franchise strategies. A January 2018 appraisal valued the hotel at $75 million. The Property is now offered for sale significantly below replacement cost and well below the 2018 appraisal. Furthermore, a new investor may wish to pursue the necessary approvals to convert the Property to other uses such as multifamily, affordable housing, rehabilitation centers or other alternative facilities.
