817 Broadway is a 140,000 square-foot commercial building at the corner of Broadway and 12th Street, a prime location along Midtown South’s prestigious “Silicon Alley” at the intersection of Union Square and Greenwich Village. Taconic acquired the property in November of 2016, and immediately began executing its redevelopment plan for the site. Working with Studio Architects, Taconic has fully restored the building’s historic brick and terra cotta façade, replaced all of the windows, installed a new retail curtain wall, fully redesigned the office lobby, and modernized the MEP systems and elevators. The building includes a new 4,000 square-foot roof terrace with 360-degree views. Reimagined as a state-of-the-art commercial building in Greenwich Village, the building caters to a mix of technology, advertising, media, information, fashion, and boutique financial services companies.
