The former Northern Hardwoods facility in Newberry, MI is now available for purchase! Most recently operated as a concentration yard, this is a facility that purchases green lumber from sawmills, dries it in kilns, and then planes, grades, and resells it as kiln-dried (KD) lumber. This expansive operation is located in an industrial park just outside of Newberry in Luce County. The property consists of just under 29 acres with multiple access points. The land is level and much of it cleared and graveled. The total building square footage is approximately 60,000 with about 1500 square feet of office space, and the balance being varied manufacturing and storage space. There is an industrial sized boiler with a biomass system that would convert saw dust by-product into steam to operate the kilns. Six other large buildings are located onsite, as well. Some equipment & machinery remains from the hardwood operation, but could certainly be recycled to re-purpose the spaces. The site is available "as is" with the current equipment intact. A purchaser could re-boot the operation with limited input cost. Detailed specs of the buildings and parcels are available. All but one of the buildings are insulated and heated, and the general condition of the facilities is quite good! The yard space is significant, as well, providing more than 10 acres of additional expansion if desired.
