This beautiful building is a landmark in Downtown Martinez, known as the “Sharkey Building.” It is located across Court Street from the 5 block area known as the Contra Costa County Civic Center (comprised of the Finance Building, Administration Building, 3 Court Houses, and Post Office, among other County buildings). The building is on the State Register of Historic Places, which restricts what can be done on the exterior. The building has been divided into commercial condos.
