Positively Tinker Street - In the heart of Woodstock, an iconic Woodstock sidewalk cafe that became the home of an esteemed arts organization is ready for its next incarnation. Bob Dylan famously performed at the Cafe Espresso and wrote and slept upstairs.
In the 1960’s, the Café Espresso at 59 Tinker Street was Woodstock’s hub for folk music. Bob Dylan came up from Greenwich Village, NYC, in 1963, and befriended the Paturel Family who owned the Cafe. Bob worked here, in a room with a manual typewriter, creating music that helped people understand the changes of a turbulent decade in America, and pulling in many friends and visitors including Joan Baez, Peter Yarrow, Levon Helm, Happy Traum, and John Sebastian.
This second-floor office or studio has a prime location in the center of Woodstock above Happy Life. This includes two separate areas - the first is the room where Bob Dylan lived and wrote music. The second is a large open-concept space with a partitioned area for an office or closed storage.
