Decatur, Illinois is the largest city in Macon County and is the county seat. The city is located just 40-miles to the east of Springfield, Illinois and 50-miles southwest of Champaign, Illinois. Decatur has substantial industrial and agricultural processing production, including the headquarters of agricultural conglomerate Archer Daniels Midland, agribusiness Tate & Lyle’s, and Caterpillar Inc. manufacturing facilities.
