Formerly home to Cone Mills and later Union Bleachery, the facility was one of the largest denim producers in the world. Before the plant's closure in 2003, this site contributed meaningfully to the Upstate's economy and was the center of the quaint mill village that surrounds it. After a fire at the plant in late 2003 and the subsequent shuttering of the textile operation, the property has lain dormant.
Now, something new is coming. Located a mere 2.5 miles from Downtown Greenville and 3 miles from Furman University, this +/- 240 acre site sits in a prime location with 1 mile of frontage on the award-winning Swamp Rabbit Trail. Development opportunities are available for multi-family, single family, retail, and office.
