The subject property is a former student housing and gymnasium campus consisting of 20,356 square feet across two buildings. The improvements were constructed in 1973 and were operated as a private elementary and middle school until 2009 when the northern campus building was converted from classrooms to dormitory rooms to suit the needs of the former school operator at this location – Meritas. The campus improvements were originally built in 1973 and as noted were redeveloped into dorm rooms for students who attend the main campus of North Broward Prep on Lyons Road located approximately 15 minutes northeast of the subject property. The buildings that are currently dorms has a total dorm capacity of 144 students.
