It’s ideal for a day-trip or easy outing: close to San Jose (~10 miles), beaches (Santa Cruz ~20 miles) but has a small-town charm. There’s a strong mix of things to do: gourmet restaurants, cafés, boutique shops, artisan and local stores, and outdoor spaces/trails nearby.
