The property was originally built in 1924 (added on in 1955) and used as a furniture store, Bissler's Furniture, prior to being redeveloped as prime downtown office space. There are several great features to the building. One is the location along the Cuyahoga River. Every suite in the building has breathtaking view of the river, Kent's stone arch bridge, and other downtown landmarks. Another asset nestled between the building and the river is The Portage Hike & Bike Trail. This corridor connects to hundreds of miles of improved hike & bike trail networks. The Kent Parks & Recreation Department was recently awarded a multi-million dollar grant to update the trailhead immediately adjacent to the building. Construction of a new concrete trail, scenic overlook deck structure, signage, lighting, and a bicycle stairway connecting the trail to the Main Street bridge will all be built in 2021! Parking in downtown areas can be a challenge, but it is plentiful at West River Place as we currently have 100 parking spots available to tenants and guests!
