Purchased in December 2013 by a Tishman Speyer affiliate, 2000 K Street was redeveloped beginning mid-2015 with late 2016 / early 2017 delivery. The building underwent a full base building redevelopment to include the following new features:
· Addition of 4 office floors to top of building
· Glass façade with floor-to-ceiling glass
· Redesigned lobby with travertine finishes
· New elevators systems and cabs
· Renovated restrooms
· New mechanical systems
· Rooftop terrace
· State-of-the-art fitness center
The redeveloped building is a free-standing trophy building with 4 sides of floor-to-ceiling glass. The ceiling heights for the top 4 floors achieve a minimum of 9’ finished while the existing floors achieve a minimum of 8’6”. Additionally, the top four floors are column free on the interior and include expansive view corridors. A typical floor achieves up to 48 windowed offices, resulting in a window ratio of 1 per 450 RSF. The building includes a new rooftop terrace and an expanded state-of-the-art fitness facility. In 2018, this building was awarded LEED certification at the Gold level by the U.S. Green Building Council.
