Berkshire Health Systems is the leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services for residents and visitors to Berkshire County. From inpatient surgery and cancer care to provider visits and imaging, Berkshire Health Systems (BHS) offers a continuum of programs and services that help patients to connect to the care they need, no matter where they are located in the rural Berkshire community. BHS supports 24-hour emergency care at its two inpatient acute care facilities, Berkshire Medical Center (BMC) in Pittsfield and Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington, as well as the Satellite Emergency Facility on the BMC campus in North Adams. LOCATION:
Pittsfield is the largest city and the county seat of Berkshire County, Massachusetts. It is the principal city of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Berkshire County. The population was 43,927 at the 2020 census. Pittsfield remains the third largest municipality in Western Massachusetts. As the commercial center of the Berkshires, Pittsfield is the home of the world headquarters of SABIC Innovative Plastics, Berkshire Life, and General Dynamics Defense Systems center.
