The Interworks site was formerly the Blue Ridge Burke Insurance headquarters. Blue Ridge Burke sold to BB&T Insurance which changed their name to McGriff Insurance Services on June 25, 2018. Prior to being the headquarters for Blue Ridge Burke, the building housed Town Tire Services which opened on January 24, 1947. Interworks conducted a full building renovation in 2022, yielding the nicest office space available in downtown Mt. Airy.
