San Antonio is located in the dynamic San Antonio, TX MSA. San Antonio is the 7th most populous city in the United States, the 2nd largest city in the Southern United States,[9] and the 2nd-most populous city in Texas as well as the 12th most populous city in North America with just under 1.5 million people and an MSA population of 2.6 million people. San Antonio has historically been one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. San Antonio is about 75 miles Southwest of Austin, the state capital. San Antonio is home to the Alamo and to numerous US Armed Forces facilities including Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base, Kelly Air Force Base, Camp Bullis, and Camp Stanley. San Antonio grows in all directions and growth along the South West Corridor along I-35 towards Lytle, TX has picked up steam in recent years shown by the new home construction in Lytle. Lytle, TX is located about 20 minutes Southwest of San Antonio right off of I-35 at the corner of Atascosa County. Atascosa county has a population of over 50,000 people. Lytle has been identified by new home builders as a target growth community because of its good schools and low crime with close proximity to San Antonio with a growing population of just under 4,000 people.
