1500 Kentucky Avenue was constructed by the Illinois Central Railroad in 1929. Locomotives were built and maintained at this complex for the IC. In the 1980’s, the complex was purchased by VMV Corporation. VMV built and maintained locomotives for General Motors’ Electro-Motive Diesel Division. In 2001, National Railway Equipment purchased the complex and have owned it ever since. TRM is the current tenant.
