This newly remodeled shopping center is anchored by a high volume Tokyo Central (formerly “Marukai Market”), Dunkin' Donuts, and United States Postal Service and located about 23 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley. Incorporated in 1901, the city of Covina gets its name from the cove-shaped valley in which it sits and the vineyards it once contained. Known for orange and grapefruit harvesting during the first half of the 20th century, the city now offers mainly single-family housing and apartment complexes. The City of Covina goes by the slogan, “One Mile Square and All There,” earning the motto as a result of its small size when it was first established. Today, the city expands approximately 7 square miles.
