Park Place at Bay Meadows is part of a substantial mixed-use development in the city of San Mateo. The retail/commercial portion of this development will total 315,000 square feet on the former Bay Meadows practice track. Park Place at Bay Meadows will be anchored by a 40,000 square foot Whole Foods Market, a 20,000 square foot health club and approximately 25,000 square feet of miscellaneous specialty food uses and service related tenants. Other uses include an 8,000 square foot upscale restaurant, and a four star 300-room "W" Hotel along East Hillsdale Boulevard. The hotel is planned to open in 2004.
