A rare piece of Manhattan history at 119 East 55th Street. A 19-foot-wide townhouse built in 1868 by architect James W. Pirsson, its red-brick facade still intact with doric pilasters and ornamented keystones. Part of the building once housed the Tree Club, a Prohibition-era speakeasy, and later became home to Charles F. Noyes, the legendary Wall Street real estate broker who brokered the 1951 sale of the Empire State Building.
