Introducing Farrell’s Bar and Grill, a Groton, New York landmark that is steeped in history and tradition.
This 5,016-square-foot building was built in 1875 and has had a tavern on the first floor since its inception. Along with the beautiful bar room, there is an additional deck space with direct bar access. In addition, it has two apartment spaces on the second floor, and a third floor which can be used for storage or various purposes. This property has ample parking spaces in the village lot next door and on Main Street, directly in front of the establishment. Historically a Gentlemen’s Club, the historic property has been known as “Farrell’s” for several decades.
The bar was restored in 2023 to the traditional Farrell’s Irish pub theme. Some recent updates include a custom-built bar with hardwoods including a solid cherry top, repainting to its traditional green and gold, new bar room furniture (tables, chairs, and bar stools), and pool table (cues, stand, and balls). The kitchen and bar have also been refreshed with bar equipment (bottle coolers, an ice machine and basin, a three-bay sink, and a hand sink) kitchen equipment (a Vulcan gas range, fryers/baskets, a microwave, a low boy fridge and freezer, and a utility/hand sink), as well as other structural restorations. The bar and kitchen are completely outfitted with the essentials needed to serve customers, including glassware, flatware, plates, bowls, serving baskets, etc. The full-service bar and restaurant accommodate a total occupancy of ±72 patrons.
Farrell’s is¬ an icon and an integral part of the community that has been able to accommodate a wide demographic. Its central location and proximity to local businesses has contributed to the unique characteristic of the area. This flagship, essentially turnkey business opportunity, has been serving the Village of Groton and surrounding area for most of the last 150 years, it will continue to be the focal point of family and community celebrations.
