Dole Cannery has recently undergone a major renovation and now features modern design while retaining a strong connection to its storied past.

At the turn of the 20th century, James Dole, "The Pineapple King," began what became known as the Dole Pineapple Company, one of the largest pineapple distributors in the world. The Dole Cannery played an integral role in the company’s success as it gave Dole the ability to pack and ship pineapple to broad overseas markets. With the decline of the pineapple industry in Hawaii, cannery operations closed in 1991.

Today, the bright yellow buildings of Dole Cannery have become landmark in Honolulu signifying a new era for the residents and visitors of Hawaii. Just minutes from downtown Honolulu, Dole Cannery has been converted into an office and retail complex including Regal Dole Cannery 18 Theatres state-of-the-art 18-plex, Home Depot, Best Buy, and Costco.
