This Venetian-style shopping center was completely remodeled, refurbished, and equipped with an elevator in 1997.
In 2007, the Arcade was remodeled with an extension creating two new spaces and restoring the back of the building to retain its classic charm.
Originally built in 1925, the Chevy Chase Arcade features a classical revival design, a sophisticated marble lobby and abundant natural light. The National Register describes the Chevy Chase Arcade as "the only local example of a distinctive building type (the arcade) that gained prominence in 19th-century Europe."
