Metro Developers, Inc. is developing 100,000 square feet of retail space on Savannah s Southside at the intersection of Georgia Highway 240 (Abercorn Extension), U.S. Highway 17 (Ogeechee Road) and Little Neck Road. With traditional village architecture, preserved specimen live oak trees and a pedestrian friendly design, Lawrel Hill Village will be the retail focal point of this rapidly growing area. A Wal-Mart Supercenter, currently the only retail center along this stretch of Highway 17, is 300 yards to the south of Lawrel Hill Village.

Lawrel Hill Village is at the very center of one of the fastest growing parts of Greater Savannah. Along Highway 17 alone, over 10,000 new housing units have been approved for development. An additional 10,000 houses, in a development just five minutes away from Lawrel Hill Village, was announced in May by International Paper Realty. The population within this trade area is expected to rise from 24,749 to over 50,000 in the next five years. Average household income is expected to grow from $70,531 today to $101,328.
