Rob Rodriguez is a serial entrepreneur in the health care service sector and recently completed the sale of his company to a multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporation. Through the years, his companies employed several hundred people throughout the healthcare and service industry and because of his dedication to his work and the community, Rob and his company have received numerous recognitions. These include Chairman of the Year from the Texas Association for Home Care, the Community Excellence Award from the Alamo Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, 2009 Minority Health Care Firm of the Year Award and the San Antonio Business Journal’s 2010 & 2011 Top 50 Private Companies and Best Places to Work.
Mr. Rodriguez is a strong advocate for business and the real estate community. He served four years on the City of San Antonio (COSA) Planning Commission and as its Chairman for two. During his Chairmanship, he presided over many key issues that promoted growth and economic development throughout the city and was one of the signatures of record for numerous subdivisions, master development plans, and planned unit developments. He also served on the COSA Small Business Advocacy Committee, COSA Goal Setting Committee, Storm Water Drainage Fee Committee, and the Northside ISD Bond Committee. Rob also served on the Mayor''''s Small Business Taskforce whose work led to the creation of Cafe Commerce, an innovative incubator & resource bank for small businesses.
A community leader, Mr. Rodriguez is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio and the Alex Briseno Leadership Development Program. He has served on the boards of the San Antonio Red Cross-SA Chapter, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, FIRST Robotics, and the San Antonio Water System Community Conservation Committee. Rob was Vice President of the Texas Association of Home Care and has served on the Executive Board for the Texas Silver Haired Legislator Foundation, is a past president of the Alamo Area Home Care Council and was an active member of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Northside Chamber of Commerce, and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he serves on the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan Element Working Group (Military) and is working to develop policies for sustainable growth and protection of San Antonio’s many military installations now and into the future.
Rob has an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a BS in Education from Texas Tech University where he was honored as an R.O.T.C. Distinguished Military Graduate. A graduate of Harlandale High School, Mr. Rodriguez returned to San Antonio after serving in various leadership positions in the US Army both in forward areas overseas and stateside while stationed at Fort Bragg. Rob is a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and volunteers his time with various community service organizations. Rob has been married to his wife Melinda for over twenty years and they have three children & a dog: Megan, Robbie, Diego and “Cooper”.
