Michael brings a variety of valuable skills and knowledge to the Davis Team with his successful background and experience in the medical industry. After starting his career at the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, Michael moved to the Allina Health System where he spent the past decade leading the Allina Health System real estate department. As a lawyer with both MHA and MBA degrees, Michael brings a tremendous foundation to the Davis Group.

Michael created the Allina Real Estate Department—crafting its charter, writing the corporate policies, hiring the staff and implementing the corporate real estate procedures. In his role as Corporate Vice President, Real Estate, Michael was accountable for Allina’s 2.5 million square feet lease portfolio (50 lease transactions per year), 300 construction/design projects annually (2008 budget of $300M) and all of Allina’s development initiatives.

Among his noteworthy accomplishments is Allina Commons at Midtown Exchange—according to the Business Journal “the most complicated real estate deal in Minnesota’s history.” He also successfully crafted and implemented a strategic real estate plan for the Allina Medical Clinic. In the past three years, he developed 10 clinics and negotiated 30 plus ambulatory leases. Michael was also responsible for the development of a replacement hospital as well as campus master planning and infra-structure assessment initiatives.

Michael is currently working with health care clients in the Twin Cities, greater Minnesota and Wisconsin markets. The range of activities includes developing strategic real estate plans for multi-site providers, clinic developments and leasing. Less
