Michael Kain

Michael R. Kain serves as the CEO of Kain & Associates. Initially drawn to the location and history of Dupont Circle, he opened his commercial real estate office in 1978 and has been there ever since. Through his business efforts, partnerships with community leaders, and his trusted leadership of various neighborhood initiatives, he has helped to shepherd Dupont Circle through many improvements for four decades. He remains devoted to improving the neighborhood while preserving its treasures to create the best vibrant, walkable community for Dupont Circle businesses, offices and residents. Michael received a B.S. from the US Naval Academy in 1970 and a J.D. from the Golden Gate School of Law. He earned a LLM in Taxation from Georgetown Law in 1978 and was granted an honorary Doctorate from Golden Gate School of Law in 2012. He devoted many years to the Washington Metropolitan YMCA as a Board member and eventually as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Michael resides in Dupont Circle with his wife, Marlana.
