As an engineering graduate of Michigan State University, I received an interdisciplinary degree that integrates the technical background of engineering with the non-technical discipline of business. It taught me to understand the mechanisms of a tangible working thing by the sum of its parts. For my clients, this has proven invaluable. They continually benefit from my ability to breakdown the many varying parts of each challenge I face into smaller and more manageable parts. This application of intellect and creativity is what helps me to get the deals done. What consistently challenges these intrinsic skills is that every deal is different. There are always new things to learn, nothing is ever as easy as it appears up front. That's what lights up the board for me.
That may have been what initially attracted me to a position at one of this city's largest real estate syndication companies where, from 1996 to 2000 I was in charge of the buying, due diligence, repositioning, redevelopment, leasing and eventual sale of all its investment holdings. With this experience, I gained an understanding of the real estate industry from an ownership perspective. I came to understand what made a property a good investment, and what it takes to make it a profitable commercial asset. This ownership understanding has enabled me to help my clients make sound investment decisions. It is from this experience that I have successfully leased over 400,000 square feet of Real Estate. Brokered the acquisition and disposition of over 15 commercial properties. Sold in excess of $30,000,000 in real estate sales over the last 5 years. And made the best career decision of my life, a move to Unique Properties.
When I'm not in the office, I'm always thinking about real estate and how to make it work. I believe, like many of my associates here at Unique Properties, success in this business is directly proportional to the effort and thought you put into it. That's why I'm here.
