Mr. Thompson graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He served in the United States Army, and the US Army Reserves. He held numerous positions on the New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Board of Trustees as well as the role of Vice - Chairman. He is a past president of the Realtor's Commercial Alliance of Southeastern North Carolina (RCASENC) and continues more than a decade of service on the NCAR Commercial Forms Committee.
