Martin Down focuses on Transwestern’s project leasing of office and medical space, as well as acquisition and disposition efforts for land and office product in San Antonio. With 25 years of commercial real estate experience, Martin most recently served as principal with Apollo Commercial Realty, Inc. He specialized in representing companies and owners in the full range of commercial real estate services, including lease negotiations, build to suit, acquisition and disposition of office property, development and strategic planning of office properties. From 1996 to 2000, Martin was vice president with the Trammell Crow Company in San Antonio where he was responsible for maximizing the value of a 2.1-million-square-foot office portfolio. In addition, Martin has represented several large institutional landlords, including California Public Employee’s Retirement System (CalPERS), Nationwide Insurance, Metropolitan Life Insurance, Patriot American (Mack-Cali), Trammell Crow Company and Talcott Realty. Since beginning his real estate career in 1984 with Fuller Commercial Brokerage Company, Martin has closed over $200 million worth of transactions. Since 1996, he has leased over 3,000,000 square feet of office space. Recent notable transactions include: Bank of America, N.A.-135,216 SF, Alliance Capital Management Corporation-126,251 SF, Genzyme-85,561 SF, Fulbright & Jaworski-61,724 SF, Department of Defense-50,000 SF, and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP-41,643 SF. Martin received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas.
