Kenneth Fries - Commercial Real Estate Showcase

Kenneth Fries has over 18 years of experience in the development and leasing of retail projects. Having worked for some of the most respected names in the industry, Kens skills include project feasibility, merchandising, and complex contract negotiation. Specifically, Ken has been involved in over 10 million square feet of development while closing over one million square feet of high-end, boutique and big box retail. Ken has been successful in closing deals with the likes of Orvis, Ann Taylor, Talbots, Coldwater Creek, and Eastern Mountain Sports; with local boutiques such as Gretchen Moynahans Greta Cole and Greta Lux; and also with the nationally acclaimed restaurant OYa and celebrity owner, Mark Wahlberg.

Currently with RK Associates, Ken leads shopping center acquisitions efforts and leasing of over 6 million square feet of existing and proposed retail developments.

Prior to RK, Ken was the Vice President of Leasing at Samuels and Associates where he led the leasing efforts of the Hingham Shipyard, a 250,000 square foot mixed use water front development. Anchor deals secured by Ken included Bed Bath, and Beyond, Old Navy, Patriot Cinema, Eastern Mountain Sports and the Fresh Market as well as celebrity owned high end restaurants.

Prior to Samuels, Ken was Vice President of Leasing for Urban Retail Properties where he focused on five million square feet of regional malls and lifestyle centers. Projects that he was responsible for included the 700,000 square foot Providence Town Center, Philadelphia PA and the 2 MM square foot mixed use waterfront development, Branson Landing, Branson MO. Ken began his career on the development and leasing of the 1.2 million square foot urban mall, Providence Place, Providence RI.

Ken is a member of ICSC, is a CCIM candidate and holds Real Estate Licenses in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. He is a licensed Construction Manager in the State of Massachusetts.
Education:
Ken has a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering and a Masters of Fire Protection Engineering both from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA.
