Ken Adams - Commercial Real Estate Showcase

TRANSWESTERN ROLE As our Vice President of Healthcare Property Services in San Antonio, Texas, Ken leases and manages sixteen medical office and ancillary buildings for four major clients totaling over one million square feet located on six hospital campuses. Included in this portfolio are eight medical office buildings owned by Baptist Health System, as well as several ancillary support buildings including the Regional Operations Center, Human Resources, Central Distribution Center, and multiple outlying clinics and service centers; the Atrium Medical Office Building owned by Balfour/Concord; the Southwest Medical Office Building owned by Tegra Healthcare Properties; and the START Center for Cancer Care, an owner occupied facility for medical and radiation oncology care. Ken has complete responsibility for all daily operations, lease administration, compliance with federal Medicare fraud and abuse statutes, owner and tenant relations, planning and construction management for building and tenant improvements, budgeting and financial reporting.


CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Prior to joining Transwestern in July, 1994, Ken served as director of physician services at the Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. As a member of the senior management team, he was responsible for all leasing and tenant build-out of the Bay Area Professional Plaza. He successfully leased 95% of all available space prior to the grand opening, and was responsible for all physician recruiting and physician contracting activities. He also directed the hospital’s public relations and advertising campaigns. He participated in the development of the hospital’s annual business plan and monitored activities to measure achievement of business plan objectives.

Ken served six years on active duty in the US Air Force in medical administration, and four more years in the active US Air Force Reserve where he cross trained as an Aeromedical Evacuation Technician (flight medic) and performed hand’s on patient care in the hospital setting as well as in flight.

Ken is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the San Antonio Board of Realtors, the Texas Hospital Association, and the San Antonio Medical Group Management Association. Ken has received numerous awards including Transwestern’s Employee of the Year, Management Employee of the Year, Building Team of the Year and Legendary Service Awards.
