Current Responsibilities

Gil Ohls currently serves as Managing Director in Jones Lang LaSalle’s New York office. In this capacity, he works directly with Robert Martin in managing his team and their assignments. He specializes in serving hedge fund and private equity firms, including Massif Partners LP, ESL Investments and FrontPoint Partners LLC. Mr. Ohls’ global experience includes Interactive Data Corporation and Millennium Partners, among others.

Experience

Mr. Ohls focuses on tenant representation, but has a diversified history of transactions over his 12-year career including buying and selling buildings and land, landlord representation, retail representation, real estate development and conversion, and repositioning of properties.
In 2005, Mr. Ohls was chosen as one of Fairfield County’s “40 Under 40” by the Fairfield County Business Journal. He has completed over 2.6 million square feet of lease transactions and has negotiated an equally substantive amount of commercial sales in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. In 2005, Mr. Ohls was involved in Fairfield County’s largest commercial office transaction, bringing RBS Greenwich Capital Markets’ regional HQ of over 500,000 square feet to Stamford. The building houses the largest trading floor in the United States.
In 2003, he was honored with Reckson Associates’ “Broker of the Year” award. Mr. Ohls is recognized by his clients and peers for his tireless work ethic, attention to detail and impeccable reputation in the industry. His clients include Burton Management Group, Cenveo, Inc., RBS Greenwich Capital Markets, Millennium Partners, Mercury Partners LLC, Greenbridge Partners, ESL Investments, Kanders & Company, Inc., Clarus Corporation, Black Diamond Capital Management, LLC, FrontPoint Partners, Dover Management, LLC, Newgate LLP, Royal Bank of Canada, QD Healthcare and Heidenreich Marine.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, he served as managing principal in Newmark Knight Frank’s Connecticut office for 12 years. Previously, Mr. Ohls was associated with Natexis Banque, where he was a treasury analyst.
