Gene P. Spiegelman is an enthusiastic and active participant in the retail leasing industry. With 23 years of experience, his knowledge of site selection; property development and leasing; and negotiating business terms essential to retail transactions have distinguished him in the field. He maintains particular expertise in the urban, luxury and specialty retail niche, having extensive experience in both retailer and landlord representation.

In 2007, Gene was recognized as Cushman & Wakefield’s leading retail producer and a member of the firm’s top 100 real estate professionals. He is a member of C&W’s Global Retail Executive Committee, participating in the firms global retail expansion initiatives.

A specialist in leasing the most desirable retail positions to best in class retailers, Gene was awarded the Real Estate Board of New York’s prestigious 2001 Retail Deal of the Year Award for transacting a lease for 48,000 square feet at The Cable Building in Manhattan’s NoHo Historic District for Crate & Barrel’s second Manhattan store.

Gene has transacted numerous high profile transactions over the course of his career. Noteworthy transactions include: Diesel at 685 Fifth Avenue, Ferrari at 410 Park Avenue; Prada at 724 Fifth Avenue; Levi Strauss at 536 Broadway; Esprit at 110 Fifth Avenue; Crate & Barrel at 611 Broadway, CB2 at 451 Broadway; Fratelli Rossetti at 625 Madison Avenue, Sherry Lehman at 505 Park Avenue, and Best Buy at 1880 Broadway, among others.

As a leading representative of “Class A” urban retail property and a highly experienced tenant representative, Gene is proud to have clients such as Crate & Barrel, Calvin Klein, Trader Joes, Wachovia Bank and FedEx entrust him with their business. Mr. Spiegelman received a Masters Degree in real estate investment and development from New York University and is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
